    Account Management

  • Your Account
  • What is an ATA ID?
This is another name for your linked email. ATA ID is one of two ways to link your account so that you can access it on other devices, or if you ever log out or unlink your device.

To set one up, go to Settings > Account Management > ATA ID

You can create an ATA ID with a password or without one (using email link). Your email will need to be verified to get a free DN.

NOTE: your email must be valid, as password reset links are sent to that email!
  • What is Facebook linking?
Facebook linking is the other way you can link your account so that you can access it on other devices, or if you ever log out or unlink your device.

It will use the profile you log into on the Facebook app on your device.
  • What is device linking? How can I use it to log out?
The device linking section shows the devices that you have linked to your account by logging in with ATA ID or Facebook.

To remove a device from an account, go to Settings > Account Management > Device Linking in game and disconnect the device.
  • How do I log in to my account?
When you see the new user screen, tap “Recover Account” at the bottom of the screen.

Select either ATA ID or Facebook, then input that information.
      - For ATA ID, type in the email. If your account has a password set, you will need to type it to login. If you are using Email link, you will need to open the link sent to you by email.
      - For Facebook, make sure you’re logged in to the right Facebook profile in the Facebook app on your device.
  • How do I delete/reset my account?
Resets have been removed from the game, and we do not delete accounts.

However, if you'd just like to remove an account from your device, please see the steps above.
  • Email Link troubleshooting
Email Link technology allows you to log in using your email, instead of remembering a password. It is more secure and easy to use!

If you didn't receive the email, check in your spam folder. Sometimes it can take a couple minutes to arrive. Make sure you typed your email properly.

You must click on the email button from the same tablet/phone that requested the link. If you try the link from a desktop, or a different device, it won't work.

Make sure PIMD is still installed. The link must be opened with PIMD (see example on the right). If you can't open the link with PIMD, try opening your email from a different app (on Android, if checking emails from a browser, Chrome seems to work better)

NOTE: an Email Link can only be used once and will expire after 30 minutes.
  • I've lost my account! What can I do?
Please first contact us through the in-game Help menu. We will be able to help you recover your account from there.

However, in order to retrieve an account, you will first need to prove your ownership of the account to help ensure account security. You will need answers to the following nine questions:

      1. Account username 2. Account creation date (best guess; month and year) 3. Most recent login date (month and year) 4. Approximate geographical location of your last login 5. Last device used to log in to the account 6. The dates, prices and items of the last 5 purchases made on the account 7. Name of Club 8. Existing e-mail address (ATA ID) on the account 9. New e-mail address (ATA ID) for the account
  • How can I set/change/recover my password?
You can set, recover, or change your password using the following link:
      Password Reset

  • Getting Started
  • What’s the point of the game?
The main goal in PIMD is to grow your dorm into the best one on campus!

There are also Items, Furniture, Pets and Avatars you can collect to personalize your look, show off to your friends and increase your stats!

PIMD is also a very social game. You can meet, chat and work together with new people through many different channels.
  • Where is my Showcase?
Go to your profile page by clicking on your avatar, then scroll down to find your Showcase, Most Valuable Tutors, and other categories of your inventory.
  • What is Combined Stats/CS?

You can see your combined stats on your profile below your Hire Value.
Combined stats is often referred to as "CS" and you get them by adding up your Strength and Intelligence stats.
KCS means the stats are in the thousands, and MCS means the stats are in the millions.

  • How do I increase my stats?

You can raise your stats by hiring and upgrading more dormmates in your dorm tower. This costs cash.

The more they cost, the higher the stat bonus they give you. You can view their specific bonuses in your dorm tower as well.

Bonuses from having an RS (in game relationship), collecting items, hiring tutors, placing furniture and unlocking achievements will boost your strength and intelligence further.

  • How do I get cash?

You can make cash by doing Jobs, participating in Parties, completing Stories, and winning PvP battles.

You can also volley other players (hire them as a tutor back and forth with another player) and/or be volleyed yourself (have two people hire you back and forth).

  • How do I change my username?
You can change your username by going to your profile by tapping on your avatar, then tapping on the small pen icon next to your username in your profile.
  • What if the username I want is already taken?
If the player is inactive, the game will automatically release their username for you and rename you to it!

If not, then they are considered to be in active use and ATA will not be able to free it up even if you write in. Feel free to check on the username’s inactivity by checking in the same way!

  • What are Avatar Shards?
Shards are items you collect that turn into avatars!
      There are two types:
Avatar shards that combine on their own
Avatar shards that need an activator to combine
  • Where can I find Shards and Activators?
Activators can be purchased in the Shop.
Shards can be collected from boxes and sometimes during events, as well as gifted and traded with other players.
  • What are limited-time only Shards?
While many shards are tied to specific events, there are avatar shard collections that are continuous and in the game for extended periods of time.
They can use activators to turn into the masculine or feminine form avatars or can be used as currency to purchase the avatars from the shop.
The amount of shards required can change from collection to collection. The shards could be obtainable in different ways, but most often opened from boxes!

  • Items
  • Extra Credits (ECs)
ECs can help with almost anything! They’re the premium currency in PIMD.

You can find ECs in the spinner, purchase them in the Store or earn them through the Offer Wall.
  • Doctor’s Notes (DNs)
Also known as DNs, these are used to instantly regenerate your strength and intelligence instead of waiting for them to regenerate over time.

You can get these through the Nurse (tap Store, then Get More), the spinner, jobs, events and boxes.
  • Hypnocat / Pizza Bikini / Money Dog
These are used to start premium parties (Cat Cafe, Pizza Pop, and Dog Star, respectively), which provide increased cash payout and increased event drops, when applicable.

Only a single player in a club needs to use this item in the party.

Both can be bought in the store, as well as found in the spinner and boxes.
  • Collectable Permanent Items
There are a ton of collectable items in PIMD. They can be viewed in your Showcase.

Many of these grant bonuses to your stats. These bonuses can be either static (a set amount) or percentage (applying a certain % to your total stats). These are called Stat Items (or MISC).

These items can be gained through Stories, the spinner and the Store, and can be gifted to and traded with other players.
  • Speakers
These are used to post to Campus Chat or make Campus Announcements.

Speakers regenerate each day when you first log in for the day.

You regen up to 5 speakers a day (3 for new users for their first two weeks), and can store up to 25 regenerated speakers.

You can also get speaker tokens through the spinner, or purchase them in the store for 1 EC per speaker.
  • Attack Items
These are consumable items that strengthen party actions and PvP attacks, thereby increasing your chance for success. Once you use one with an action, it’s gone!

You can buy a variety of these in the store.

You can buy a variety of these in the store.
  • PIMD Crates
PIMD Crates are given away by the ATA team and up for grabs during community events that are announced on the forums! Keep your eyes peeled on the forums for announcements!

These crowns can be used to purchase special avatars and items from the Shop!
  • Monthly Avatar Coins
Avatar Coins can be purchased directly from Molly's Corner in the Shop or opened from monthly timer boxes.

These coins are used to purchase the avatars from the Shop. The avatars are only available for that month and change every month!

  • Gifting
  • What is a gift?

Being in a relationship lets players send exclusive gifts to them!

These exclusive gifts can be viewed from your relationship screen.

  • Trading
  • What is trading?
Trading is a feature that allows you to exchange items instead of gifting them. It’s a great way to exchange items you already have, especially if you want to exchange more than one.

Please note that trading is done at a player’s own risk. Support cannot reverse trades, so you should only trade when you’re sure about it.
  • How do I trade?
Trading is done through PMs with friends in game. Once you and a player follow each other, you can go into your private message channel and propose a trade by tapping the button in the lower left hand corner.
  • Where can I learn more about trading?
The official forum thread for the Trading system can be found in the Announcements section on the forum, under the title “Trading is Here!”
  • I've been scammed! What can I do?
Unfortuantely, trades, gifts, and other in-game transactions are done so at a player’s own discretion.

A Thinking Ape is not able to intervene in these transactions, and we are not able to return items.

  • PvP Battles
  • What are battles?
Life in college isn’t always parties and sunshine. Sometimes people fight, or gossip, or pull pranks on each other. All of that happens in PIMD too.

Battles are PvP (player vs player) attacks on other players in game. Depending on your comparative stats, you have various odds of winning or losing.
  • How do I start a battle?
To start a battle, just tap the Battle button on the player’s profile. Then choose the action you’d like to do: Fight, Dance Off, Prank or Eavesdrop.
  • Why is there PvP in PIMD?
As in real life, conflict is a part of life, in college and elsewhere. PvP is one of the game’s core mechanics and factors into some styles of play.

It is, however, completely up to you whether you decide to attack other players. Many players choose not to.
  • People are attacking me a lot / farming me! What do I do?
PvP is part of the game, which means Support is limited in how and when it can step in.

But you can always fight back! When you have a club or a crew in game, you can ask them for help. We've also created some guides to help nagivate farming, like this:
How To Deal With Getting Farmed
You can also activate a Peace Tag.
  • What are Peace Tags?
With a Peace Tag active, no one can attack you in PvP!

A Peace Tag lasts for however long its name and description state (12hours, 1 day or 3 days), or until you perform a PvP attack on another player.
You can get Peace Tags from the spinner. They can be activated through JD's Party Store in the Shop.

Remember, Peace Tags don’t stack! If you start a new one before your current one is done, you lose the current one’s remaining time.
  • What is Peace Prevention?
Peace Prevention prevents a player from activating a Peace Tag too soon after they've been involved in PvP.

Peace Prevention lasts for 15 minutes from your last PvP action. Once that 15 minutes has passed, you can active your Peace Tags again!

As you complete jobs and lose energy, these same jobs will become more difficult to complete.
  • Why can’t I complete any more jobs?
There are a set number of jobs available in game. Once you’ve completed them all, there won’t be any further jobs to unlock.

      Read more on the forum:

You can assign Gold Passes to anyone below you in club role rank.
If you want a Gold Pass, and are not the President, someone of a higher club role must assign it to you.
  • Our club owner went inactive! How can we transfer ownership to someone else?
This is a pretty rare case, but it can sometimes happen. Support can help, but only if the owner has been gone long enough to be considered inactive (this takes months).

In such a case, at least 3 club members of higher roles (VP, Executive, etc) should contact Support through feedback indicating that they would like to transfer ownership to a specific player in the club. They must all agree on and request the same player.

When you level up Pets, you sometimes get Pet Supply Boxes. These give special pet foods needed to level up Pets past certain levels.

Leveling up pet requires food and time.

  • Messaging

  • Public Chats
  • What is Campus Chat?
Campus chat is where players can hang out with each other! Interact, socialize, trade items, and advertise Clubs -- just to name a few!
Tap the chat preview bar at the bottom of the screen and then tap the "Campus" tab to reach campus chat.
  • What is Pub Chat?
It's the latest PIMD chat channel; all social requests (e.g. RP requests, meeting new friends) are now made in The Pub and are no longer allowed on Campus!
You can see Pub chat from swiping left from Campus chat.
  • What is my Wall?
Your wall is where players can leave public messages for you!
You do not need to be friends to leave a message on another player's wall.
If you do not want to receive wall messages from a player, please block them from the bottom of their profile.
Tap on the people icon on the top right of your home screen, then tap on the 'Wall' tab to see your wall.

  • Private Chats
  • What is a Private Chat?
A private chat is an unmoderated conversation between you and a friend!
You need to be friends before you can privately message someone.
If you do not want to receive private messages from a player, you can block them from the bottom of their profile.
Since private channels are unmoderated, there is no restriction on what is shared through private messages.

  • Group Chats
  • What is a Group Chat?
Group chats are like private chats, but with a group!
They are private conversations between any group of players you want to gather.
Everyone has admin privileges equally in a group chat.
Like PMs, group chats are not moderated.
Trade is not active in Group Chat.
  • How do I make a Group Chat?
Go to your Inbox in the Social tab and tap the speech bubble in the bottom right hand corner. Select people to invite into the group chat from your friends list.

  • Purchases

  • VIP
  • What is VIP?
Tap the banner at the top of the Shop screen to buy 7 day membership to the VIP Lounge
For 7 days, you get the following:
      25% extra cash from parties
3x MORE Prize Tokens from video ads or the 'Free Tokens' button
Daily Rewards Bundle in your Rewards Inbox containing ECs, DNs, Pim-Keys, and an exclusive VIP Rewards Box

If you buy another VIP before your first 7 days of VIP are done, the new days will add on when the first week ends, giving you 14 days of VIP in total.

  • Subscriptions
  • What are subscriptions?
Subscriptions are plans that give you a special persistent boost to your gameplay experience.
Each subscription plan gives a different temporary boost.
Subscriptions and their bonuses last for one month unless otherwise specified.

They automatically renew unless you cancel them before the end of the current period.
  • How do I manage my subscriptions?
Subscriptions AUTOMATICALLY RENEW unless you turn auto-renew off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period.
To view, manage, and cancel your subscriptions, check your Account Settings in iTunes or the Google Play Store.

  • Social Purchases / Buddy Boxes
  • What are Social Purchases / Buddy Boxes?
When you buy certain EC and DN packs from Tess in the Shop, you’ll also get special boxes.
One box is given to you, and another box is given to each member of your club at the time you make the purchase. The most commonly seen of these boxes is the Buddy Box!

Buddy Boxes can be open from your reward inbox. They usually expire after 24h, so don't forget to collect them!
  • What is in these boxes?
These boxes contain special avatars, furniture, and combination items. The combo items turn into bigger stat items when you collect enough!

  • Prize Spinner
  • How does the Prize Spinner work?
The prize spinner provides players with a method to obtain a number of items for free including Cash, Doctor's Notes, Extra Credits, and more!

You can earn free tokens every 3 hours by tapping on the Gift button as well as through watching video ads by tapping the Earn button.

Once you have 100 Tokens, you can then tap the Spin button, spin the Prize Spinner, and get your rewards!
  • Why do I always get cash?!
Cash is the most common prize in the spinner. The other prizes all have chances of dropping; some are just more rare than others.

As the spinner is luck based, the results are up to chance!

  • Video Ads
  • Why don’t I see any videos available for me to watch?
Your location, device and provider can all affect the specific videos you have to watch at any given time. Offers are based on time and location and are determined by the provider.

If you watch a lot of videos, you may end up watching all the available videos for your specific location, time and provider.

If you don’t see any videos to watch, please try again later.
  • Why is my friend who lives in the same area is able to view more ads?
Again, both the device you’re using and the provider can factor into what videos are available. So if your friend is being served more videos than you are, it’s likely due to one or both of these.
  • I am able to watch videos, but all I see is a black screen!
This is often due to a connection issue. Please ensure that your internet connection is strong and stable, and that you are connected to a network that has enough bandwidth to support streaming videos.
  • Why didn’t I receive any tokens after watching a video?
Temporary issues with network connection or your device may cause viewing problems

If this happens, the system will scan for any missed rewards and add the tokens to your balance upon your next collection of tokens 30 minutes after the problem.

  • Offer Wall
  • What is the Offer Wall?
The Offer Wall lets you do tasks to earn ECs.
Tap the “Earn Free ECs” button in the Shop to access it (found just below the icons for the EC and DN packs).
After completing the offer, you will receive the ECs in your Reward Inbox (it may take a few minutes).
  • How do I view and manage my Offers?
You can check the status of your offer through the options menu in the Offer Wall (three horizontal lines on the top left corner).
The Offer Wall is run by a third party. As such, we don’t have the necessary data to verify ourselves that you have completed your offers.
  • I completed the offer but I didn't get my reward?
Your reward may take some time to arrive! Tapjoy recommends sending them a ticket if you haven't got your reward after 48hours.

As we don’t have the necessary data to verify ourselves that you have completed your offers, we would be unable to help you.

Please get in contact with the Offer Wall Provider's Support team.
Go to the offerwall page, and in the side menu look up the Offerwall FAQ.

  • Upgrading Your Account

  • Tutors and Pupils
  • What are tutors?
Tutors are other players that you can hire to assist you in parties or fights. They provide you with both increased stats and plunder.

You can hire many tutors to boost your stats.
  • What are pupils?
Your pupil is the player who has hired you as a tutor.

Only one player can hire you as a tutor at any one time, so you can only have one pupil at once.
  • How do I hire tutors?
You can hire tutors from the Tutor section of the game or by tapping the hire button on any player profile.

Tutors are a very valuable resource and can be hired away from you at any time.
  • Hire Value? Volleying?
When a tutor is hired away from you, you receive the original amount you paid as well as a portion of the profit.

Hire value is increased as other players hire you as a tutor.

A few players hiring you back and forth is called "volleying", and doing this can increase your hire value greatly in a short period of time.

DVP, or “drop profit volleying”, is two players hiring a tutor back and forth to a certain amount of in game cash as profit, with the end result of one player keeping the cash and the other player keeping the tutor (and usually being gifted something for their help).

  • Dormmates
  • How do dormmates work?
Dormmates give you your base stats (Strength and Intelligence).

When you rent a dorm tower room, you’ll be able to select a dormmate to move into it.

Some dormmates have more Strength, some are more Intelligence-focused, and some are a balance of the two.
  • How do I upgrade dormmates? What does that do?
Upgrading dormmates increases the bonus stats the specific dormmate provides you with.

You can upgrade an existing dormmate by tapping on it and selecting the Upgrade option.

The more cash you spend upgrading a dormmate, the more of a discount you’ll receive when exchanging it for a higher tier dormmate later.
  • What happens when I exchange a dormmate?
When you exchange a dormmate for a higher tier dormmate, you are charged an exchange fee based on the amount of in-game cash you've already spent on this dormmate to hire and upgrade it.

  • MISC Items
  • What are MISC stats?
Your misc stats are the stat bonuses you get from things like stat items.
Of these, there are static bonuses (specific numbers) and percentage bonuses. You can view your total misc stats at the bottom of your Profile.
  • What is a misc stat cap?
You can only utilize up to a certain amount of misc static bonus, based on your raw stats, your tutors and your RS Bonus. This amount is your “misc cap”.
Your raw stats are determined by your dormmates. So, as you upgrade and hire stronger dormmates, you can use more of your misc bonuses too.

  • Moderation

  • Mods and Honor Students
  • What are Mods?
They are volunteers from the player community who work with ATA staff to keep PIMD a safe gaming environment
They also help players with game knowledge questions, and are active and positive influences in the community.
Their name in Campus and Pub chat is green.
  • What are Mod Crates?
These are special crates with an item for each mod, designed by the mods themselves.

Mods sometimes run contests, events, and activities, and will give mod crates as rewards for these.
  • What are Honor Students?
Honor students are nominated by the devs.

They are players known for helping others and being active and positive within the community.

They do not have the extra powers or responsibilities of mods.

Their text in campus and Pub chat is light blue.

  • Abuse and Silences
  • What is a silence?
When a player is silenced their ability to communicate through public channels in the game is disabled. Developers, Moderators, and members of our Support team issue a silence when a player violates the game’s Terms of Use or Code of Conduct, found here: http://www.partyinmydorm.com/tos.html
  • What can lead to being silenced?
Inappropriate Content: Posting obscene, pornographic, excessively violent, harmful, or sexually explicit content. This includes using emoji’s to create inappropriate art or messages.
Spamming: In general spamming is only silenceable if it is done with the intent to disrupt chat negatively or harass other's.
Spamming as a Group Posting the same or similar messages repeteadly by different individuals with the intent to disrupt chat negatively or harass others. Encouraging spam-type messages to disrupt chat negatively.
Bypassing: Intentionally circumventing our chat filters to post a message that would have been otherwise censored.
Harassment: Posting messages or engaging in actions that discriminate, promote hate, violence, or advocate hatred or discrimination against individuals, groups, races, cultures, or organizations.
Impersonation: Falsely presenting yourself as a moderator, a member of the development or support teams or another player.
False Information: Spreading false information with the intent of misleading other players or disrupting gameplay.
Personal Information: Posting or soliciting personally identifying information in a public channel.
Third Party Content: Posting links to referral programs or other third party applications not created by A Thinking Ape.
Encouraging Abuse: Encouraging other players to post content in violation of our Terms of Use

If you are looking for more clarification check out our forum post HERE.
  • How do silences work?
Silences operate on a tiered system. After a player has been silenced, they will move up a tier, and the next silence they receive will be of a longer duration. However, after a player has been unsilenced their silence Tier will decrease by ONE for each 30 days they go without an additional silence.

      Tier 1: 1 day
      Tier 2: 7 days
      Tier 3: 30 days

We reserve the right to deviate from this policy at our discretion in extreme situations.
  • How can I appeal my silence?
If you have questions about a silence given, you can contact Support directly through in game help.

Please note that you can be silenced for anything that we determine to be inappropriate in our public channels (world chat, walls and status messages). For more information, please view the Terms of Use here: http://www.partyinmydorm.com/tos.html
  • How can I report inappropriate behaviour?
If you would like to report any incidents of inappropriate behaviour in public channels in PIMD (world chat, walls, statuses, usernames, club names and descriptions), please message Support through in game help.

In your message, please mention the usernames of those involved, what was said, and when and where in game it occurred.

Please note that private channels (such as PMs, gift notes and club chat) are not moderated in the same way. For these, it’s best to block the player (for personal communication) or speak with your club (for club chat). Some club roles can also silence members for 1 hour in club chat specifically.
